Kariya Kenichi
Born and raised in Kyoto Prefecture in 1992. Started playing piano in childhood, then trombone in the wind band during junior high. Began composing and arranging as a hobby at age 15, and has been self-taught ever since. Also enjoys haiku. Recently, he has been actively composing and arranging for flute orchestras.
His recent works include "'Butterfly' Le Farfalle" (for flute orchestra, premiered in Buska, Italy in May 2017, re-performed in Nishinomiya in September of the same year), "Assumed Organic AC Lamp" (for contrabass flute solo, Osaka, January 2018), "Capriccio on a Theme by Burgmüller" (for wind band, Tokyo, March 2018), and "Room of Chirping" (for flute solo, Tokyo, March 2018).
