Harumi Tahara

Born in Kagoshima Prefecture in 1993. Started playing piano at age 6 and contrabass in the brass band during junior high and high school. Graduated from Shoyo High School Music Department (composition major). Graduated from Showa University of Music, Composition Department, Composition Course, receiving a special award simultaneously. Studied composition under Toru Imoto, Makiko Arimura, Kazuhisa Akita, and Shunichi Tokura; music theory under Makoto Ishihara; and piano under Yasuko Sonoda, Arisa Okamura, Hiroko Momosaka, and Yukio Ishizuka. Won the Grand Prize in the National Industrial Festival Image Song category. Received the Best Accompanist Award at the 37th Solo and Ensemble Contest. Provided numerous compositions and arrangements for individuals and groups since her university days. Performed at the 2015 Showa University of Music Graduation Concert and the 86th Yomiuri Newcomer Concert. While working as a composer and arranger, she also performs and organizes events as a member of Bee trinity.
